Happy National Voter Registration Day

Today, September 25, 2018, marks the 7th annual National Voter Registration Day. Indications are this will be the largest National Voter Registration Day ever with 4,000 diverse partner organizations and businesses, of which SACE is proud to join, across the nation organizing a massive nationwide effort to register voters ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.

Every year, millions of eligible voters are unable to cast a ballot because of a missed registration deadline, outdated registration information, or other problem with their voter registration. According to Pew, as many as one in four eligible voters in the country are not registered to vote or have an outdated voter registration. This is what National Voter Registration Day organizers seek to change.

Here are registration deadlines and links to voter registration resources for Southeastern states:

  • Georgia: October 9 (check voter registration records here)
  • Tennessee: October 9 (check voter registration records here)
  • Florida: October 9 (check voter registration records here – you can register to vote online and request a vote-by-mail ballot here!)
  • North Carolina: October 12 (check voter registration records here); find specific info for those impacted by Hurricane Florence here
  • South Carolina: extended to October 17 due to Hurricane Florence (check voter registration records here)
  • Alabama: October 22 (check voter registration records here)
