Toni Reale, Coastal Program Coordinator

Toni RealeToni joined the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy in June 2008 and works in a satellite office in Charleston, South Carolina. Toni focuses her efforts on coastal climate issues, mobilizing coastal constituents to take meaningful action on global warming and to demand leadership from their elected officials. Her primary responsibility is to manage a network of dedicated environmental groups stretching from Maryland to Louisiana called the Southeast Coastal Climate Network that are working to create a unified voice advocating for the protection of the Southeast’s uniquely vulnerable coastal resources by increasing local, state, and national awareness of the threats and opportunities posed by global warming. Prior to joining the SACE staff, Toni was an Adjunct Faculty member of the Department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. Because Toni is passionate about environmental education she serves on the advisory board for a non-profit called the Lowcountry Environmental Education Programs. Toni earned a Master of Science degree in Geosciences from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2006, where she studied climate change science; her thesis research focused on paleoclimatology.
